How to access NDIS Funding.

1. Check Your Eligibility

You can check whether you may be eligible for the NDIS by visiting the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) website at www.ndis.gov.au or calling 1800 800 110.

2. Apply for Support

If you are eligible, you can submit an application to the NDIA. If approved, the NDIA will work with you to develop a personalised plan that outlines your goals and the supports you may need, both now and into the future.

3. Receive Your Funding

Once your plan is finalised, funding is allocated based on what is considered reasonable and necessary to help you achieve your goals and support your daily life.

4. Choose How Your Plan Is Managed

The NDIS offers several ways to manage your funding and supports:

  • Self-Managed: You manage your funding yourself and choose your own supports and providers.

  • Plan Managed: You can choose a registered plan manager to help manage payments, budgets, and provider invoices while still giving you flexibility and choice.

  • NDIA-Managed: The NDIA manages your funding and pays registered providers directly.

  • Combination Management: Some people choose a mix of self-management and support from a plan manager or the NDIA.

Accessing Our Services through the NDIS. If you are under 65 and living with a disability, you may be able to receive NDIS funding to support your everyday life at home and in the community.

Your first step is to request an Access Request Form through the NDIS. With help from your GP or specialist, you’ll share information about your needs, goals and the type of support that would make a difference in your daily routine. This helps the NDIS understand the assistance you may be eligible for.

After your form is submitted, the NDIS will arrange an assessment to learn more about your strengths, challenges and what matters most to you. Once your eligibility is confirmed, Quokka Care will walk beside you to choose the services you want, create a support plan that suits your lifestyle and introduce you to your care worker. We stay connected with regular check-ins and reviews, making sure your support continues to feel right as your needs grow and change.
